Holiday Expectations In Las Vegas

by VMT Singuillo

Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world, is located in the desert of the state of Nevada in the U.S. It is indeed one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country today.

During holidays such as Christmas, New Year, and even on long week ends, people from other states also flock in Las Vegas. This is because Las Vegas is full of glamour and fun with its dazzling lights, glitters, sights and sounds.

The major attraction in this city is the Strip which is the Las Vegas Boulevard. This major city street is lined with lavishly themed hotels which operate their respective casinos, shops, restaurants, and other entertainment centers. Among the enticing attractions along the Strip include the dancing fountains, the "erupting volcano", the pirate shows, the pyramid, and a lot more.

By strolling the Strip, a tourist may even have the experience of witnessing the "Eiffel Tower" of Paris, viewing the towering buildings of New York New York, or simply having the great experience of going into all the famous and luxurious hotels of the city.

Although Las Vegas is known as a "Sin city" because of its gambling and entertainment industry, some wholesome family entertainment can also be found. Circus Circus Hotel features its carnival activities and roller coaster rides.

Because Las Vegas is a top tourist destination, some hassles can be expected during the holidays and on long weekends. Eating in restaurants can be delayed due to the long lines of people waiting to be seated. Although majority of visitors bring their own cars, parking can also be a big problem. As a result, many visitors simply leave their cars in the hotel parking lots and then ride the buses that may be available towards their next destinations.

Unless a visitor had made an advanced Las Vegas hotel reservation, availability for a hotel room may be a little bit difficult during holidays. However, cheap hotels and cheap motels may still also be found in the outskirts of the city. In general, hotel and motel room rates may differ from the weekdays and the weekends. Hotel rooms may be cheaper during the weekdays as compared to the weekend rates. Therefore, expect that during the holidays, a hotel room may cost you more. It is advisable too that you make an advance online hotel reservations when planning for a vacation in Las Vegas.

Lastly, if you don't plan well enough for your spending in Vegas, expect that your finances may be depleted. Casinos are indeed a great temptation for you to give away your money in hopes of winning more money!
